“To live in the world of creation—to get into it and stay with it—to frequent it and haunt it—to think intently and fruitfully—to woo combinations and inspirations into being by a depth and continuity of attentions and meditation—this is the only thing.”

Henry James

Catherine is a freelance writer, editor, graphic designer, and publishing consultant from the San Francisco Bay Area. She founded Wordsage in 2005 and truly believes everyone has at least one good book in them (even if it's a very short one). Her clients appreciate her insightful and passionate contribution to their work and often end up not only as repeat clients but also as good friends.

With almost 25 years working in writing-related fields, Catherine has worked as an editor, writer, publishing consultant, writing coach, literary agent, book publicist, graphic designer, and marketing manager. She has held positions at Random House and Yoga Journal. Her well-rounded publishing background has helped her cultivate a thoughtful understanding of the needs of her clients, whether they are authors or publishers or organizations. She has a proven track record as a detailed and thorough project manager, coordinating the creation of several websites and self-published books.

Catherine holds a BA in English from UC Berkeley and is a member of the Bay Area Editors' Association and Editorial Freelancers' Association. In addition, she is a hospice volunteer involved in helping the bereaved through grieving. Although based near Napa, she works with clients from all over the world. She is a happily married wife, mother of two spunky and adorable little boys, and is currently writing a memoir about losing her father to AIDS while a teenager living in Marin County.
